Old school 130 Grand Slam here. If there is anything wrong with these old bullets, I'd like to know what it is. Fired with 55 grain of I 4350 into milk jugs at 109 yards.

We are so lucky to have a great many excellent bullets to choose from! I have not used 110 ABs. I have limited experience with the 140 AB out of a 270 and am a fan. But if you wanna play with 110 grainers out of a 270, go with the TTSX - especially if you have a 24" barrel. It'll make your 270 think its a 257 Weatherby. As others have noted, of course, the BC catches up with you at long range.

I’m a Speer fan, really like the hotcor, the BT ain’t bad either. I’ve tried and tried to get the Grand Slams to shoot in several calibers to no avail. 3-4” groups is usually what I get, quit buying them years ago.

My Sako A7 did 3400 fps first try with 110gr TTSX and RL17 and RL16. My new barrel is a little fast as I got 3350 from a model 70
from 1957. With the same load. Load was very accurate.

I’ve only tried H4350 with the 110 TTSX, it topped out at a little over 3200 FPS (22” Fwt), but was accurate. I took a nice buck 2 years ago with that load, never recovered the slug. I am contemplating loading up some more to take to WY antelope hunting, but a tad weary of the low BC and wind out there.

Agreed! These are the glory days for bullets.

Here are some 130 grain 270 bullets. Except for the 110 TTSX on the end. All the 130s were caught in milk jugs, set at 100 yards. Launched with 55 grain of IMR 4350 from a 22" Tikka.

Left to right. Accubond , Grand Slam , Hornady Spire Point , Tipped Trophy Bonded. The Hornady did puke it's core. It's sitting there as one, but it did seperatd. In its defense. I shot a mule deer buck at 343 yards with one. Dropped like a bad habit. Of course it was hit in the spine and angled up into the chest as it climbed a rise going away from me. Still, can't complain.

I loved those old slip top boxes too. That one has a dozen or so left in it, and a similar quantity of 150s. All the old school Grand Slams I have left.
