I have a chance to buy one of these for a reasonably good price Are they a reliable scope for dialing and long range use?

It is regularly recommended and from what I gather, as reliable as a NF or SWFA. That's good company.

I own a NF NXS, SWFA 5-20 hd and Bushnell LRHSi scopes. The Bushnell has the best glass clarity of the three manufacturers. Yes, if the deal is good...I would buy it. š

Contrary to what some think, they're actually worth it at full retail......

GA Precision recently received another shipment and may still have some left for $750.

I have the 4.5-18 version and use it at the range on a Tikka T3X Superlite 6.5 Creedmoor. It is a lot of scope and will do about any thing a long range hunting rifle would need to do. It is not really needed for the hunting I do in Alaska and it is also heavy at 28 ounces. The 2-12 version is almost as heavy and I see no advantage with it over the 4.5-18. If it was lighter, like around 20 ounces I would scoop one up.
Lots of guys have no issue packing 30 ounce scopes around, I personal don't care for it.

The 2-12 version is almost as heavy and I see no advantage with it over the 4.5-18. "See no advantage"...Pun intended? Eye box is the reason for the 2-12. Super, super easy to get behind. Makes me chuckle thinking of all the scopes I've owned that require the neck wiggle to get a good picture. The 2-12 is just "right". I'd pay full price for the 2-12 before buying the 4-18 on sale. IMO.

I've got both the 2-12x and 4-18x. Love 'em both, but at 18x it is a touch finicky, but not near as bad as most others. Was out today with the 6.5 CTR and 4.5-18 launching 147 ELDM's at 2700fps. When the wind is cooperating like it was today it is downright cheating out to 600 yds (as far as our range goes). I've got the 2-12x on the T3X.
I've mentioned this before but for me, I much prefer the low profile elevation turret and capped windage overr the SWFA's. The glass is a step up too IMO.
It is irrelevant what you think. What matters is the TRUTH.
