Picked up a very nice condition 94 XTR 375 Win that had the stock swapped out. The raised comb is way too high for the sights, no idea why this was done. No extra holes, no cross bolt safety, top eject and no signs of a scope ever being on it. Serial number is BB025XXX. I would like to find a correct checkered stock and matching forearm as the rifle is in excellent condition and, I feel, worth it. Got it for a great price and it came with ammo as well. I've done some quick looking around online, but any info where to look for a stock set is appreciated. Take care, Dean.

Try Mid West Gun Works

Many 94 XTR came from factory with silhouette based stocks, especially 7-30 Waters and 307 Win models. It’s possible your butt stock was swapped through Winchester parts by previous owner for one of those in the mid eighties. Preference for use is subjective, don’t discount a silhouette butt stock for increased accuracy when using low power scope or fast fire red dot sight as they really make a difference for eye alignment and handle recoil better. Make sure you’re satisfied with discarding current high comb silhouette stock and future use of scope or red dot. Straight stock will not ride high enough to benefit such a set up, recoil will be felt more as well. If your preference is iron sights and you feel the stock rides to high by all means make the switch.
