I have a bunch of 7mm-140’s. It seems like you can’t get any now. They shoot great in my 7 mags. I shot the originals for years. The new ones are more accurate.

They are being phased out by federal in favor of the new edge tlr. I have seen them in action a few times against bull elk, in the 7mm 140 variety, and they performed admirably. Through the shoulders, stop under the hide with a beautiful mushroom.

Same here. I have delayed working with them due to the cessation of availability. Once I can get the TLR’s I will continue testing.

The last time Midway had them, I picked up 4 boxes of the 7mm 160 grain versions. Haven't shot anything but paper as I'm still working up loads but they seem to want to shoot. Not quite as accurate as Barnes, but I'm not done yet!

I'm thinking a 160 grain TBT at 3100 fps will work on anything I'm likely to shoot with a 7mm.

Bought a box of 160-grain factory loads that screamed out my 7 mm Wby re-barrel. Midway had clearance on bullets only and I roughly found the same load with Ramshot MAGNUM- - an extra 100 fps with the factory and a few extra granules than plain MAGNUM. No idea how they got the charge in. Pulled a few to guess at powder and never really got it all off the shell walls. Maybe the new bullet will be fun, too? With Federal nickel cases and the silver coated bullet, well, a n actual "silver bullet" (that wasn't beer or werewolves, Lone Ranger and Tonto...)

I think I have six boxes of 7mm-140’s in my cabinet. I need to load a few and try them.

No. It wasnt. After all the premium bullets I tested and tuned,I ended up using the o!d Hornady Spire Point. An old fella that I have the greatest respect for,was an old Hornady man. He never made it west for deer or antelope like he always wanted. So, I used an old 130 grain Spire Point to take my mule deer. One shot. Going away up a small rise at 343 yards. Entered center of the back at the back of the ribs. Angled up into the goodies. Dropped like a sack of chit. The same 270 bullet that he used to take his biggest whitetail here back east. No tip or bonding. Still work on deer though.

The 130's are $23.99 right now at Midway.

It looks like they quit carrying the 140gr 7mm version, as it is no longer listed.

Observed/involved with the autopsies of 3 bull moose last fall, 2 taken with factory loaded 180 gr Trophy Bonded out of 300 Win Mags. Both moose were shot at about 200 yards. 4 of 5 bullets were recovered, all under the skin on the far side, all mushroomed just like the ads, including one that went thru a shoulder.
I took my moose with 150 gr Partitions out of a 300 Savage, at 65 yards. Both bullets were recovered, same story as above.
Bull moose #4 at that camp, was taken with a single 180 gr Partition out of a 300 Win Mag, thru the lungs. Complete pass thru at about 200 yards.
The hunt was in Newfoundland.

Have a box of 160 TBT's to shoot in my 7RM. I'm also working up loads for my hunting bud, headed to Africa in August. He likes the 160 NAB for his 7RM and we'll probably use them. I want to see how the 160 TBT stacks up against the 160 NAB. 160 NAB's are easier to find than 160 TBT's.

How much better than NAB’s, if at all. NAB’s surely easier to find.
