Are they still expected to ship this week?

Also, what product lines do these compare to - Black Diamond? Euro Diamond? MTAC? Something else, entirely?

Burris sure kills off a lotta products.

These are essentially the MTAC with a different reticle. It is a "For Europe" model that we managed to get our hands on to offer a deal

These will be here this Wednesday and depending on the delivery time will go out either Wednesday or Thursday

Do they have the illumination control knob that turns and switches off in between settings or do they have the button on the side that you depress like in the stick photo?

I do not recall from when we had these a couple of months ago, however, hopefully one of the guys here that picked one up can reply. If not, I'll let you know Wednesday when the shipment comes in

The FourX scopes have a rheostat knob that turns and has individual settings. It is not like Leupold where you depress the button for each change. (At least that is the case with my 3-12x56)

Thanks Bobby.

Folks, I am sure it is fine with Bobby for you to ask his opinion of these scopes for optical quality, performance and illumination.

Because it was made for sale in Europe it's difficult to get details. I did find this link, https://www.optics-trade.eu/us/burris-four-x-1-5-6x40.html to it on someone elses site

Pardon the low-quality phone picture, but this is how it looks on my 3-12x56. For the $299 price Doug sold these for, these were a steal. You are not going to find notably better overall performance in a scope with comparable features until you encroach onto the $1000 plateau. The illumination is done well, too, and is dim enough for use in the lowest of light.

If there is a weak point from an optical standpoint, I'd say it's the anti-reflective properties as you do get some minor image degradation in back-lit situations. It's noticeable but not bad, either. I've seen far more expensive scopes that were worse in that regard.

Any speculation on the erector system. Hold zero well on a rather snappy rifle?

I've never had issues with Burris scopes holding zero, but -- due to health issues -- I no longer have a rifle in which the recoil could be called "snappy." The rifle the Four-X 3-12x56 on is a Contender with a 24" barre in .300 Savage. The load I am using is very mild and pushes a 125 grain Ballistic Tip or Accubond at 2740 fps. So far, the Burris has tracked perfectly and maintained zero. Our oldest son was shooting that rig yesterday and overlapping shots on steel gongs.

You guys in the U.S. have no idea how good you actually have things. I wish we could order stuff like this at those prices here. That scope would fit well on a couple of my rigs.
