I bought the Finn made movie on the winter war... I really really wanted to like it.

There's also a Russian "Stalingrad" movie (2013), in Russian w/ subtitles. It focuses on a small group of soldiers ordered to hold a strategic position to the last man. Absolutely one of the best, most moving war films I have ever watched. So good I sat there and watched it a second time. Won a whole bunch of international awards. I have watched the German film, but it pales in comparison to this.
