Anyone have experience with the new Curado? Watched several YouTube’s and have to admit how impressed I was with the new braking system. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gcO--UCqVmMI ordered one this morning. $250 stung but having no backlashes while not thumbing the spool whatsoever?

My 25 year old original Curado finally gave up the ghost. I think I paid $50 bucks for it back then. One of my favorite baitcasting reels over the years.

I ordered one. If it works as well as the You tube videos suggest I will loose it to the wife almost immediately.

That video sells it for sure. What ratio did you order? I have the 1:7 being delivered tomorrow. I’m gonna load it with Suffix 832 12lb diameter-50lb strength braid and rip it. If it works as well as in that video I’m buying the 1:6 and 1:8 ratio ones.

I ordered the 1:7 too. Mine is coming from CA by USPS so end of the week is likely. I will likely load some flurocarbon and give it a run with some of the lighter stuff I usually cast with a spinning rig. I think that will be the toughest test. If its half as good as it seems i will need to get a couple.

Finally got it setup. Paired the 1:7 Curado DC to a Fenwick HMG 7’ MHF. Spooled up with Suffix 832 12lb - 50lb.
Being only a spinning reel guy I used the 4 setting a good while. It taught me what I could get away with and what I couldn’t. Setting 2 is for mono and braid. With setting 2 I was still able to bomb it out but you do need to thumb it at the end for the heavy casts.
I can hand this to a child and they can throw it without backlash on setting 4.
