Are the Pedersoli Sharps .45-70 rated for the "Bear Load" ammo;
Garrett Buffalo Bore +P HSM Bear Load
It appears rated for smokeless factory ammo. Is 29,007 cup the cut off?
Is a hotter load ballistic for this cartridge going to appreciably improve trajectory or mostly increase impact force? Though the .45-70 has been around for almost 150 years but it and the Sharps are new to me -

From Buffalo Bore website: "PRESS RELEASE FOR BUFFALO BORE 45-70 MAGNUM-LEVER GUN (ITEMS 8A, 8B, 8C, 8D, and 8E)
Our 45-70 ammunition is externally identical to SAAMI spec 45-70 ammo, but internally it generates FAR more power and pressure. So, our 45-70 ammo will fit into ANY 45-70 firearm but is not safe in every 45-70 firearm.
Its use should be limited to the following firearms:
All Marlin 1895 (1895 Marlins are all model 336 actions, chambered in 45-70) iterations made since 1972, all Browning 1885 and 1886 copies, Rossi Rio Grande, New England Arms Handi Rifle, T/C Encore, ALL falling block actions made of modern steel such as Ruger #1 and #3, Shiloh, Christian and Pedersoli Sharps, Henry Lever Action Rifles, CVA Center Fire Rifles, all Winchester 1886 iterations made since 1915, CVA Centerfire Rifles and all Siamese Mauser bolt actions."
For what it's worth, you'll enjoy your Sharps much more with traditional loads. You won't be lacking in power, millions of Bison can testify to that.

Amen. For deer and such, I'd think about a Gould bullet at from 1400-1800 tops.
What fresh Hell is this?

I was thinking 1,200 to 1,400. Much more than that and it kills at both ends. But the one I shoot the most is a 95 Marlin. Rusty

What Tmitch posted, but....the buffalo still go psycho when they smell BP. Been plinkin' with 530 gr lead and a Highwall with good results. Full charge of Lord Black does the trick. Nothing in this hemisphere will walk away after getting thumped with it. Bullet is the one behind the penny, a .30 cal of about 175 grains to the left. You don't wanna know about the others. Groupage.... Thumper is happy with a tang sight.

Is a recent build actually, done by Wyoming Armory in Cody. Took delivery in 2018, early summer IIRC. Funny story about how it came about.... The pic below, note the extra forearm and stock: Theory was that I could convert the Schuetzen style .38-55 to a sporter if the desire struck, but for reasons unknown to me the trigger group did not function in the sporter stock. I puzzled a bit, called the fellow I bought it from and he offered to fix it as he was a 'smith. He had made the "concept" but never shot anything other than offhand Schuetzen. I pondered it a bit, had a Quigley moment and sent the stock and forend off to the Armory telling them there were a few pieces missing and asking them to fill in the blanks. After it was established what I wanted the blanks filled in with they went after it. The action is recent production FWIW. I have a MVA scope, a Winchester B series reproduction, but have not mounted it though the blocks are in place. Took me about 20 rounds to work out the load and now I puzzle about why I have the scope. I coulda had a .45-120.....sniff....
