Any of you fellow airgunners here have experienced with the hw97/77? Looking to add another spring gun. Currently have R7 Hw30 and want to leave it open sighted. So want a slightly stronger spring gun and scope it. Kinda wanna try a fixed barrel gun instead of a break barrel. Going to stick with .177. Thx!

If you are going to Scope it - the 97k is the way to go.

Ive had both and the Air Arms TX200 is by far a better rifle.

Actually that TX200 may be the best all around spring gun Ive ever had the pleasure to use.

Quality build
Accuracy
Power
POWER
And most of all the ability to be left standing for days or weeks without put any use and be absolutely dead nuts accurate on the first shot.
Unlike almost any springer I’ve ever shot that requires at least a few shots to become accurate and stable to shoot varmints or targets.
Head shooting rabbits on my farm to 80 yards no problem from a solid rest. Again unlike most springers that are difficult from a solid rest.
My Hw was 20cal
My TX200 is .22 cal

I have a vortex 16x scope with range finder reticle. The distances I shoot with the spacing of crosshairs it’s a match made in air-gun heaven.

Go .22 and never look back. Hint.

Vortex sucks heavy ass and is simply a fhuqking joke.

Sorry for your scope weight issues.

As a full grown man I’ve never had the nightmare of an ounce or two of scope weight to contend with. I understand your struggle though. Once you start with a 10lb springer the weight of scope and rings must be one of your biggest concerns to be able to pick it up by yourself.

The weight of the combination I use is perfectly comfortable for any reasonably sized adult man.
