Went to my lease last Sunday squirrels scampered from both feeders . Checked the game cams no pigs because a herds of squirrels eat all the corn as soon as it hits the ground , worse is they spin corn out of the feeder daylight to dark .
Since no pigs were around I decided to use the CZ 17hmr for squirrel reduction killed one coon and sixteen squirrels in three days and they were still coming when I packed up to leave yesterday . 17 critters and only one crawled about one foot with its front legs . The coon [about 12-13lbs.] twitched a bit not a wiggle out of the squirrels .
78.5 lasered yards is more 17hmr territory than 22lr subsonic ammo , the 17vmax hits with authority at that range . Felt good not missing any shots and everything dead right there .
Renewed my love for the little rifle - had it since 2003 - sixteen years , long live the 17hmr . . .
Had a Hawk stealing squirrels , it would struggle to drag them into the brush , it got two that I saw .

A badger @ 125yds was DRT last week with mine.

Those 17's are fun.. Just picked up 500 rds this afternoon..

Took one coyote, 50 chucks and 3 rattle snakes with mine last weekend. Do love the CZ 17HMR. (I did upgrade from the 455 to 457 this spring).

Thanks folks - agree 17hmr's are fun and kill better than most would think if standing there with a 17hmr cartridge in hand .

I've killed 3-4 coyotes with mine - none went more than 30 yards , proves what is often said and true - SHOT PLACEMENT is very important .

Was stalking rock chucks along the canyon rim where I'd peak over the rim, hook back around then check over the rim again. Just happened to see this coyote laying on a big rock below without a care in the world. Shot him in the back of the head from about 50 yards. His head laid down, his tail flapped twice and that was it. Died right on that big rock. Never knew what hit him. A little hard to see in the pic, but that is him in the middle of the frame.

Coyote sure is hard to see , catching one that's clueless and taking the head shot - yeah - that's the shot .

I'll be heading back to the lease soon CZ 17hmr in hand .
