I just bought a Daisy No. 25 pump air gun that has a wooden stock and forearm. On top of the receiver are 5 patent numbers and that it was made in Plymouth Mich. What's neat it came with a cork tube and a model 300 telescope sight. Patent no. 2,155,391. I have never seen the sight before or the cork tube. I'm thinking that these are somewhat rare. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

No. 325 2-Way Target Outfit with Convertible Pump Gun (1950 - 52)

Daisy introduced a special No. 25 target set in 1950. They called it the No. 325 2-Way Target Outfit with Convertible Pump Gun. It was a long name for a great outfit. It came in a large box and included the No. 25 pump gun with a No. 300 2X scope. As the name suggests, it also included a cork ball barrel so that the shooter could convert back and forth between a BB gun and a cork gun. Additionally, the outfit contained a No. 77B Bell Target with a supply of target cards, five corrugated stand-up cork ball targets, along with a supply of both BB shot and cork balls. There was also a “Scope Dope” shooting instruction manual. It was first offered in 1950 and continued through 1952. The last version had the plastic stock and pump handle. There were nearly 90,000 of these outfits sold.

I think some of the later lever-actions came with a cork tube too, but maybe for tapered corks, not balls. Now, of course such a thing would get you on the Terror Watchlist.

I could never warm to the 25, since I saw no shotguns that "broke" in the middle when pumped. I wore out lots of lever-action models and finally got a 107, which satisfied my concept of what a pump should be.

I have an original that was my uncles. It has plastic stocks and a painted game scene on the side. My dad gave me a remake one a few years ago for Christmas but the newer one wasn't in the same league as the original. Same can be said of the red ryders

I terrorized the neighborhood sparrows, starlings, grasshoppers and spiders with my model 25 back in the mid fifties. Way outpowered the Red Ryders and other models of Daisy guns. Wish I knew where it is today. Think my brother's widow probably auctioned it off with a bunch of other stuff.
