Until this week !! Got a new pistol this week, it's a 357 Blackhawk with a 4 1/2" bbl, serial# 53,19X. My wife said I looked like I needed a new gun :):):) So this was my choice. Looks like it was produced in 1964 going by the online serial number check. Whoever inherited this pistol from his grandfather must have watched Tombstone, and tried out his skills at playing Johnny Ringo, and yes the pistol suffered some. Have you ever noticed how concrete and front sights just don't mix ?? This gun didn't even have a drag mark from the cylinder dog. It amazes me that a gun could be 55 years old and still be un-used. But it was bought to shoot, and I intend to run thousands of rounds through it.

One of the members here sicked me on some leather for it, and it will be here next week. Thanks.

you should like firing it. few years ago i bought a three screw blackhawk in 41magnum. couple of reasons.
i am a 41magnum whore
it was carried all over northern arizona
it was bought at ruff's liquor store next to the N.A.U. campus in flagstaff where i went to school at the time.
they do have a slicker action in my opinion to the transfer bar safety system.

Great find....

Loosing the front sight on the old 60's vintage BHs is no big deal as most of them were too short anyway.... A good gunsmith can mill a new one into place...

Hello Bill !!! Looks like your godson and I will both be shootin' 357's this year !!! This is the replacement for the one I gave his daddy :):):)

RJM --- got your point, looks like I have a little work in store for me. Guess you know I have been down this road a time or two. Ha Ha Ha Can't get these Rugers out of my system.

I carried my old Ruger 44 Super Blackhawk 4" barrel, until my hip went bad, and it got too heavy. But didn't realize how much I was going to miss it. So I found this one and figured since it was lighter and priced right ( $375) I would go for it. Was more than happy with it when it arrived :):):)

Leather won't be here for a bit.

John
