I thought about offering it to the OP for his "Bob", but then a M70 .257 showed up in the classifieds within my price range and voilà, the Alaskan is now on my "Bob"! Not as pristine as the OPs it's gonna make a sweet vintage whitetail rig. pete53 Campfire Outfitter P Joined: Dec 2015 Posts: 8,264 Northern USA	i have friend who has a Winchester 70 pre 64 in a 257 Roberts - i have a couple of new Ruger #1`s 257 Roberts in Mannlichers still in the box we are close to a trade deal. yes the 257 Roberts cartridge is such a overlooked cartridge by the rifle manufactures and that is a real shame but at my place and family hunting the ladies and soon grandkids will and do use this cartridge ! May the 257 ROBERTS remain a favorite deer rifle cartridge ! good luck this fall ,Pete53 LIFE NRA , we vote Red up here, Norseman

When the above 21 showed up on a no reserve Gunbroker auction with a reasonable starting bid, and an FFL seller who took credit cards and accepted returns, I bid up to my comfort zone and it was the high bid. Credit card payment was important as it provided a significant protection against fraud.
