Cookie has taken on the challenge of capturing birds in flight. Cold, wet, and cloudy for the last few days, but she scored a few.

Bald Eagle just after take off


Forster's Tern -- Seemed the greatest challenge as they bob and weave to no end. About 1/2000 sec for shutter speed and hard to track with a big lens. Damned near got sea sick with my efforts.


Red Tail Hawk also on take off


Seems one takes hundreds of images and subsequently deletes about 99%.

Very nice pictures Cookie! My goal has always been to get birds in flight.I hope I can progress as far as Cookie has.
I like the Hawk the best.

99% deletion rate? If I get one good one out of out of a hundred I am very fortunate. I have shot 2 or 3 rolls of 36 exp. 35 mm. and got nothing worth keeping.

Nice shots. BIF are really cool when you get a good one...
