Fishing has been slow due to the spawn and now the heat has it to where anything except early morning and late evening is pretty rough..... so we’ve had to get up early in the mornings to go for a few hours. We finally found some heavy girls that wanted to play.

I got to net my buddies personal best, which was a nice heavy
47. He also stuck a feisty 34.

I lost an absolute giant right before he connected on the 47. Which no doubt would have been my PB. I’m not sure how big and not to steal my buddies thunder but it dwarfed his fish. I don’t wanna put the magical 50” number on it but if it wasn’t it was scary close.

I was able to pull out a beautiful 44” fish before we left for the day. Took some of the sting out of it. But I’ll be seeing that fish in my mind for a long time.

Tossed in a bonus smallmouth from a quick wade fishing trip as well.

No one I know would consider muskies anything but Glamour fish! How many muskies could you catch if they ran past you in schools of thousands?
wink

Zero if they weren’t in a feeding mode. When they are on. And I mean really charged up. There’s not a thing you can do to keep them off of it. But 65% of the time they stay on lockdown lol.

I think they are gorgeous fish. Very interesting and challenging fish also.

Interesting is the word....they do some weird stuff. I’ve had the good fortune of being able to witness some of it.
