Swedish Startup to Bring Pogo Sticks to S.F. as E-Scooter Alternative

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) — San Franciscans may soon be able to bounce their way around town, if a Swedish-based mobility company has its way.

Earlier this month, start-up company Cangoroo announced plans to deploy hundreds of pogo sticks in select cities to directly compete with electric scooters as a transportation option.

Cangoroo officials said they plan to first launch their pogo sticks in the Swedish cities of Malmo and Stockholm sometime this summer.

After that, they would deploy the sticks in both London and San Francisco. KPIX

Now somebody did invent a power assist pogo stick on the diesel principle. Not sure if there were fatalities.

I guess bouncing over schdit and used needles beats walking through them.

Well, look at this way: when they get to SF, the skilled pogo-sticker will be able to hop over it rather than “step in it” or “ride through it.”

That was my thought exactly. Picture came to mind of a pogo'er pogo'ing right into a steaming pile and falling on his butt directly into it. Might be fun to watch.

Must have been a real silver tongued salesman in that board room. I'll go somewhere else though with my investment considerations. With the exception of crawling, I really can't think of a less efficient mode of transportation.

Should be a boost, however, for our emergency room industry.

They deserve what they have created. We just need a law to keep the bastards from migrating out.

I think they should make the pogo sticks look like giant hypodermic needles. It would go with the city theme for that area. Or, call them "poo smashers" and make it a game.

Might pay to watch 'em pogo down Lombard.
