Minutes ago I tossed out some of last fall's apples that are going to the dark side. This guy emerged from the back yard sagebrush and started chowing down. Will keep an eye out and hopefully document his growth through the remaining summer months. Still looking a little thin in the body, but with good soil moisture and ample herbage, he should put on some pounds Have a good one,

Spring has sprung ! Cool photo; and that boy's gonna get an appetite with all the vitamin and mineral requirements of that growing rack. Now that all the leaves are finally out and everythings greened up in my part of the world the deer are feeding heavily. Saw 5 in a food plot the other day.

Nice pics all! Neighbor brought some pics over from his cam a couple days ago. One buck that should be in the 8 point range this year and one young piebald buck. Appeared to be a year old, but always found piebald deer really interesting. Also had a couple coyotes, so have to find time when the heat breaks and have a high speed discussion with them.

That brings up a question: when do Southern and especially Texas deer start to grow their antlers? The rut runs later there IIRC.
What fresh Hell is this?

How do you cook those antlers?

Lefty needs to be put out of his misery.
If we live long enough, we all have regrets. But the ones that nag at us the most are the ones in which we know we had a choice.
