I prefer the ergonomics of the Springfield. Never could get used to the sharper edges of the mag release on the Glocks.

Interested in either an XD 10mm or a Ruger 1911 10mm myself.

Get one jimmyp, don’t be lazy. Get a Gen 4 and don’t worry about the finger grooves, if you squeeze the $hit out of it they won’t matter anyways.

Consistent with the second part of the video that g5m linked above, I assume that the XDM will recoil, at least, a bit more than the G40—based on my experience with my XDs and Glocks in other calibers.

I have a number of 10mms, and the G40 produces the mildest recoil in my hands.

If I was being attacked by a Chinese rifle platoon, that G40 would be my pick. But the DW Bruin is my pick for hunting, target shooting, and just holding, looking at, and fondling.

In case it helps, below are some of my 10mm chrono results for a variety of loads and guns.

Although I've puttered around with Glocks since the Gen 1's, maybe 30 years now, the 1911 still feels better to me. Much better.

I am of the KISS school of thought. If it works don't change it. The sorry Glock's have been around for a few years and in my hands can be modified with springs, triggers, strikers, a dremil tool, barrels, etc etc etc. Despite their horrid trigger the things work good enough that you can count on them when the chips are down. If and when I am hiking in a place where I need a firearm capable of driving a 220 grain bullet deep enough into something that weights over 3-400 pounds to make it not kill me it will be fired from something I am familiar with.
