I caught a 45.5” and 46” pike in Canada week ago. And caught numerous smaller but decent size.
Ate one of the 30” ones for lunch and released the rest.
Can’t wait to go back.

Ive always said if you watch some of the early nature channel videos that were popular in the 60's, using high speed playback to show geotropism and heliotropism in plants and flowers, you realize plants have "feelings" too, just a lot slower to react than most animals. Then I asked my vegetarian daughter to "Imagine the scream a carrot makes as you rip it from the ground--you just cant hear it because its so slow." She is no longer a vegetarian, but an RN dealing with more pressing issues. We'll all be eating Soylent Green one of these days.

Well, when you think about it, sticking a hook into something's lip or even deeper in the throat, then pulling them by that hook to the surface where they suffocate is kind of cruel. I say let's all go to dynamite. It's a much quicker death.
