I just ordered 8,000 primers. 7,000 are Winchester. 1,000 CCI. The order totaled over $300, so I got free shipping. With tax, the order came to $357. That makes them $44.62/1000 all in. With the Winchesters, the rebate comes to $67.23. or $9.60 per 1000.

After the dust settles, with taxes applied, the rebate deducted, and free shipping to my door, the Win primers come to $35/1000. Or about $26.50 US/1000. There might be better deals in the US, but for up here, this purchase is cherry.

Hope they work well for you Steve. I have a good supply of older production WW primers (white/orange and black print) that are good stock. Purchased several thou of the blue box stuff a couple years back and was quite disappointed in their performance. This included LRP, SPP and SRP stock. I have used them for a variety of shooting exercises and passed a few bricks to other shooters. They will be a memory soon.

Certain lots of primers can be poor, but one primer brand really is no different than the others. Benchrest shooters would buy as many of the same lot powder or primers that they could to minimize problems.

I'm not at all worried about their performance. Continuous poor performance would put any company out of business. Individual lots troubles are just a small bump in the road. smile

I agree about differences between lots. My primary issue with the lots I had/have is very soft cup alloy. They seemed to generate larger range in ES, though this wasn't significant to me.

Ah. I don't worry about small things like that because I don't shoot competition anymore. smile

Soft enough to interfere with function. The cups were getting a grip on the firing pin of 3 different rifles and refusing to let go.

No problem. When that was happening, they would have recalled the lot.

I ordered the primers on the weekend and they were delivered today. I ordered from a company that I've never dealt with before - Tenda Canada. They are located in Richmond Hill, Ontario. Because they are primers, they were shipped via Canpar. All good.

I received the rebate cheque on Thurs. The whole process took about 6 weeks to Canada.
