You don't need to spend $300.
Excellent light.
Wide beam. Center of beam reaches out there too.
USB rechargeable.
Small.

Had one for about a year and a half now. It is the brightest light I own, and much smaller than my traditional pistol grip type.
I'd buy another.

flave, I have tried several in recent years and the ThruNite TN42 with natural white light color is my favorite by far if and when a compact is not needed. It has an intense tight beam, the rechargeable batteries last and last on a charge. It is large. The body is a bit thicker than a Coke can as it holds four batteries side by side rather than in a stack. The batteries can recharge in either a wall socket or truck. Buy the ThruNite brand rechargeable 18650 batteries with it. Sometimes they are offered together as a package. https://www.amazon.com/ThruNite-Lum...;qid=1560361238&s=gateway&sr=8-1

WTF is a "candle watt"? Chinese marketing BS?
Lumens are the standard.
"Watts Consumers may be more accustomed to buying light fixtures and bulbs measured in watts than lumens. However, watts are not useful for determining the brightness of a light because they measure the power usage, not light output of a bulb. The conversion of lumens to watts varies according to the type of bulb used and its level of efficiency."

I keep one of these in the truck, and we use the same at home for the black labs at night. It is pretty powerful, for the price point, and both are over a year old. Not balls to the wall, but on the amazon page there are 111 other lights listed, so it is a good starter link, and pretty good product. https://www.amazon.com/STANLEY-SL10...;qid=1560362223&s=gateway&sr=8-6

Been my backdoor light for about 4 or 5 years and has held up.

Candle power was the old way to measure light output for flashlights, sealed beams, etc. Lumen = new way and much better to compare lights. Candle power is a unidirectional measure. Lumen is an omnidirectional measure. As an example, A light beam from the sun shinning through a thin slit in a window does not light up a room very well but the directional power of that light beam (candle power) is tremendous. A light bulb with only a few hundred lumens will light up the room far better (radiating all around).

Candle power was the old way to measure light output for flashlights, sealed beams, etc. Lumen = new way and much better to compare lights. I'm familiar with candle power. That wasn't the question. What is a candle watt? So, if one candle power (watt?) = 12.57 lumens, the 18 million candle watt (power?) light referenced in the second post would be 226,260,000 lumens. Chink marketing; a new star is born. Definitely qualifies as bright as fugk.

One advantage of the Thor X is that it can be used off the DC charger (but not the AC charger). According to spiel on Amazon. Downside only works about 20-25 minutes on a charge.

I just bought this Streamlight off Amazon for $52 bucks. Click HereIt's handheld, USB rechargeable, 500 lumen, has a strobe and a low level light setting. For the price, I think it's unbeatable.

Watts is power consumption so LEDs have lower Wattage but are just as bright as incandescent lights.

I've never had a spotlight that lasted well, but I haven't tried many. I like my Fenix flashlight, rechargeable, and brighter than most spotlights.

I’ve had really good luck with the OLight line from Battery Junction https://www.batteryjunction.com/olt20t15t10.html
