I get a kick out of "research" showing that fewer homes have guns than in 1980. This "research" is conducted with phone surveys. Gun owners have just gotten smarter, and won't answer strangers asking if they have guns. I suspect that more households own guns than in 1980.

Often we here at the Fire wonder how someone can even function in day to day life being so stupid.
That just gives us a rare glimpse of what millions and millions of people say, do, and act like.
If we truly had a SHTF event of any sort, the dead would be piled so deep it would boggle the mind.
They are prepared for, and know nothing.

I saw this earlier on Free Republic. According to that article it was in the Denver Post.
The consensus there was that it's a hoax. It does sound entirely too outlandish and stupid to be true.
