Just bought a 1998 Model 7 in 260. Has the 20” barrel. 1:9 twist.
Going to use 129grain Interlocks for whitetail.
Have several pounds of RL15 on hand but can’t seem to find much load data with this combo.
Anyone have a setup like this they can share info on?
Also, I’ll be resizing some 7mm08 and using Win LRPs.

Dug out the old Hornady manual for this one. They list 38.9 gr max @ 2800 in a 24" commercial barrel.

Use the RL -15 to fertilize your wife's plants and get a better .260 powder, I'd recommend.....

As temperature sensitive as they come but it'll work in a pinch as will anything...

A bit fast for the 260 but it’ll work fine, and not nearly as much vel swing as temps change as I’ve seen w/ 19, 22 or 25.

I was under the impression that this had been addressed.

Right. I believe Alliant took steps to reduce its temperature sensitivity. GregW is usually pretty up on things though, so I'm less sure of it now.

It very well could be guys and if the chemistry has changed I ask for forgiveness on my comment. But whew, it and RL -19 as few as 6-8 years ago were really bad in that department...

I have not used Re 15 in the .260, but 36 grains under the 129 Interlock, gets 2800 from my 24-inch Creed barrel, with great accuracy. I shot three deer with that test load and they did not seem to like it. Start at 36 and edge up a bit if you want. It will work for you. I love the 129 Interlock, It has accounted for a lot of deer out to 430 yards. My go-to load for the .260, is the 129 Interlock, over 43.3 grains of Re 17, for a little under 3000 fps. I had it pushed to just over 3000, but my second .260, thought that it was a bit hot, so I compromised a bit. Those bullets shoot as accurately as any in my Criterion barrels.

A nephew of mine has done quite well on hogs and deer with 129 Interlocks I loaded for his 260. It's a good bullet.

And they don't cost too much. I have bought a lifetime supply on here and other places for a song, as everybody thinks that they need the new fancy bullets and push the 129s by the wayside. Laughing. Great bullets.

I've never had temp issues with RL-15. Then again, I'm not pushing max charges jammed into the lands.

My daughter's Rem 7 .260 shot extremely well with IMR 4320 and the Sierra 120gr PH. She harvested some nice deer with this combo. It also shoots great in her Rem 700 .260 that she now shoots as does H4350 that's just as accurate. I have some RL15 but I've never tried it in the .260 because the other two worked so well. It did however shoot great in my .308 so I have no doubt you could find an accurate load with it in the .260 as well.

This is incorrect information. 99% of the loads there have been personally worked up by him through 16 yrs of testing full time, after his retirement and for many years before that while still working. You are making an incorrect assumption and assertion.

The highlighted ones are the ones he found to work best in his shooters.
