Hey folks, wanted to let you know we have started to do semi custom packs. This allows you to choose a size, and the pocketing you want on the suspension you want.

It looks something like this

Give it a try and let us know if you have any questions

Kevin- to get your screenshot to show in your post, it needs to end with the .png. Delete everything after it in your image address. Cool service.

Kevin- any chance of bringing back dcf? summer sees me doing a lot of longer, high mileage trips and a dcf bag combined with one of your frames would be ideal

Looks like a great service, and of course you offer it after I already bought my Saker. Not that I would change anything about it as it is.

Hi Mike

In a pack the dyneema cuben fiber often used by others simply does not hold up. The X21 Gray we offer is a better fabric and is more durable at only a weight penalty of about 2 ounces.

That being said, we are working on offering two other fabrics
-- Pure Woven 100Denier Dyneema with a TPU waterproof coating. This should weigh about the same as X21 but provide a distinct durability advantage, although at a premium cost.
-- Spectra Grid Stop with TPU - We actually have samples of this on several sample packs and I love love love it. It adds a bit of weight but not much vs X21, looks sharp, and performs about like 500 Denier Cordura in durability.

I am meeting with both manufacturers in the next few days. However, I would not expect to see these in products until after the busy season.

That being said, we may offer at some point a DCF CT2e.08 (tent material) load cell sort of bag for the revolution frame to pair as just a real lite bag with a talon. However once again probably late in the year.

We have introduced a lot of new items this year, and we have one more to go (new tent called the "Silex" ..which is super cool IMO) .. after than not much will happen other than production until late in the year.

Thanks
Kevin

Any chance SO will make a pouch for my IPhone 7 Plus?
I have been on a 17 day hiking trip out west and home now. My Saker performed like a champ. I have the molle pouches on my belt . I keep my Montana gps in one and my cell in the other . My cell partially sticks out unsecured and I find myself constantly making sure it hasn’t fallen out.
I would like to see SO come up with a holster too. I have a Alien holster for my Glock but getting it out of the holster takes more effort than I want .

Are you looking at 100 Denier to keep the Dyneema option price down?

Hyperlite use a full woven 375 Denier Dyneema laminated to a cuben composite Dyneema. (non-woven Dyneema)
which makes the tough outer woven component more stable and waterproof.

Cilo-Gear use a somewhat lighter 210 Denier outer layer woven Dyneema also laminated to a cuben non-woven Dyneema.
They also have a non-woven cuben Dyneema with 200 Denier Dacron face fabric. ....as well as X-pac style Dacron reinforced VX-Dyneema.

They are rather leading edge companies when it comes to offering advanced fabric options.

I gather when it comes to maintaining waterproofness , the inner cuben layer would hold up better over time than TPU..?

Are you sure HMG is using a 375 ? Most of the UL packs are using a 50D or 150D polyester face fabric with the dyneema / mylar laminate laminated to the inside. I have seen very few use a "full woven" on anything except Mchale. Cilo site says 210 Denier Nylon / Dyneema Ripstop .. and a Dyneema from Xpac which is about a 400D ripstop.

210 D dyneema ripstop to me is more marketing than anything, and the 50D / 150 faced ones are not that good on the face (we have used it before). It's the face that wear outs, and the interior cuben makes it loud in the cold and adds waterproof and tear strength.

I am not sure on the 100D pure woven with a TPU, I have some to test. My guess is it performs really well about like a 300 -400 D fabric. The weave is tight, , and frankly I'd trust a TPU ..after all that is what boats have used. The spectra we have worked with and tested (I have a 400D pure woven spectra pack with me today ... with 200 D / 100 D spectra grid stop accents. I can tell you, we have done our testing on those fabrics, so when we get around to testing the 100D pure woven ... we will have a good comparison. I can say, we have tested 210 D dyneema nylon ripstop that is commonly available in a lot of packs .. and we don't use, because we do not feel there is a performance benefit we could articulate.

I have pouches made by SO hooked into the Molle system. My iPhone 7+ sticks half way out of the SO pouch. I’m looking for a pouch that my phone will fit in securely.
I use onX on my phone while hunting so I like to have it handy.

The XL belt ouch wont fit the phone ? I have a large iphone 10 and it fits. If I recall it will even fit a pair of XL binoculars , or a couple of beers if desired.
