That is just the oddest No.1 I could imagine, and I bet the 375 Ruger will be music to your ears out of a 20" barrel. Still, with only 60 produced and killer wood, they ought'a sell. But it climbs pretty high on my weirdometer.

Always thought one might make a nifty woods gun with cast bullets loaded to .38/55-.375 Winchester levels.
It don't have to be an elephant gun.
What fresh Hell is this?

It don't have to be an elephant gun. I sometimes load my 375 H&H Number One to such levels. Very pleasant shooting. A fellow ought to be able to do the same with the 375 Ruger cartridge. Guy

Really... REALLY surprised at the chambering! Something in a medium (deer) cartridge would have me ordering one- 35 caliber to be specific. My guess is that a 35 Rem, 358 Win (my fav), or 375 Win and 444 Marlin are better rounds for a 20” barrel. 375 Ruger in a 20” barrel? .... instant hearing loss to some degree without muffs or plugs such as in hunting situation.

Many, if not most Number Ones cranked out now are targeted at collector sales, I think. Sometimes they hit a home run for a hunting or shooting rifle as well. I get all itchy for another one from time to time, but a quick fondle of one of my little Brownings usually calms me down. Falling blocks are very compelling, no doubt about it.

Saw an absolutely beautiful No 1 in 375 H&H. I then noticed it had been magna ported. They wanted 950 out the door for it
