I'm cleaning my 7x57 after a morning at the range. The way this rifle shoots and handles makes me wonder why in the world I even think about hunting with anything else. A case in point, I have shot 10 groups with Hornady 139 SP, all the MR-3100 that can be put into the case without a drop tube and the largest has been 1.673", smallest .036" with an average of 1.042". Does almost this well with 5 other loads. Sometimes it is hard to figure myself out!
Shew me thy ways, O LORD: teach me thy paths. "there are few better cartridges on Earth than the 7 x 57mm Mauser" "the .30 Springfield is light, accurate, penetrating, and has surprising stopping power"

I feel the same way about my 8x57...

I don't always shoot Mausers, but when I do...I prefer VZ-24s.
