Had a Spyderco Manix 2 in Maxamet.

Tough as CPM110SV, but not stainless.

Didn't hafta sharpen it much, but it seemed to sharpen a little easier than 110.

Went on a fishin trip, rained all day, no way to keep it dry.

Just a little surface stuff, but the 110 woulda had nothin to report.

A kid has the maxamet now, likes it.

Fubarski

The Manix Maxamet is a great little knife.

Maxamet is not quit as interesting to me as Rex 121. Rex 121 @ 70RC and not chipping and snapping is pretty dam impressive. Maxamet might be a great non-stainless option in production knives. The thing with these steels is a lot of really good knife makers have no or little interest in working with them. What I have seen so far from Rex 121 and to an extent Maxamet they are impressive. I love that Spyderco has never been scared to work with the upper end of the "Super Steel's" and with some great knife makers.
