Howdy all! Washington's bear season is rapidly approaching, and I've got bear on my mind! Let's see those rifles you've used for bear, or would use for bear, given the opportunity:

I've shot three black bear with this 375 H&H Ruger Number One, from a mere 15 feet, to a bit over 300 yards. More than is needed for black bear, but... Why not?

And a couple of bear with my 30-06 Rem 700 CDL:

Montana - that's a great looking bear mount! And I'm just a tad envious of the buffalo too... smile

What's your rifle? Looks purposeful.

My son uses a good ol' 30-06, M 1917, with a 6x Leupold, B&C stock, and a few other updates. It's worked out really well for him on two black bear so far with the 165 gr Nosler Partition bullet:

Not a bear rifle yet per se, but I hope so one day. Just picked up a CZ550 in the 9.3x62 flavor.

Those are not mine. They belong to my best friend. The Rifle is a Model 48 in 30 Nosler. I borrowed it because I didn't have a rifle with enough azz that was sighted in.
