I'm looking to invest in either lens for studio work and am curious if anyone here uses either focal length TS-E? Adjusting the perspective to remove the camera from the subjects reflection is my main goal. I shoot directly overhead 75% of the time with the remainder raking detail shots. I'd like to have two cameras setup, one with my current rig and a second with the TS-E to eliminate switching tripods and having to recalibrate everything when swapping over.
I shoot about 300 +/- pictures a week tethered from a tripod and currently use a 24-105 F4 L on a 6D body. I find most overhead shots are about 40mm in focal length.
The 50mm length is the more natural range I find myself in, but I do have to occasionally correct distortion. The longer 90mm is tempting and I think it can be more flattering. I typically have small highly reflective products to photograph 5-15" long.
Any thoughts are appreciated.
