Used to bowhunt whitetails along the Clearwater in the late season, but couldn't tell you much about town. Sure enjoyed the hunting tho.

What ! Bruce, you're getting into more Idaho real estate. Don't tell me you're giving up on this new socialist utopia known as Nevada. I haven't even met your new puppy. frown

Edit: Saw the other post, hope all goes well, thought you were stealing my pups. grin

You're going to miss Rosie. She might become an ID resident and point her butt toward socialist NV. The CA transplants chased her up north, and she loves it. Woody likes having millions of trees to pee on, so I guess he's coming too.

Here's all the data you can need about Grangeville. This is a useful site to reconnoiter any town.

I have driven through Grangeville three or four times. I absolutely love the town. It reminds me of Caldwell and Nampa of the '60s, just before the big Cali immigration wave of the '70s.

There are a couple of incredible eateries in town.

If it were not so far from all of my kids and grandkids, I would be looking for a retirement home there, and a 20 foot jetboat to go along with it.

Well fook me grin I know my time is coming, not the state I grew up in and at some point will have to pull up stakes.

Mean time I guess I might be road trippin to get some dog slobber.

Probably not much has changed since then..We still have just one stop light and only two grocery stores(Cash and Carry and Clonigers Marketplace that just bought out the old Askers)..Restaurants come and go and there are no fast food joints and the main artery of life for the town is the sawmill and logging and some ranchers..

A buddy just started a diesel repair shop and he works non stop on logging trucks and ranching machinery and a few broke down Ford diesels hauled in on flatbed trailers(laffin)..35 years ago I lived in McCall Idaho,a whole different world but I did bring my logging trucks to Grangeville to have the onboard scales fixed..

Not much has changed over the years and why I kinda like it here, if I have to live in a town for the wife and kid..

If I could have figured out how to make a living, I'd have lived and raised my kids there, for sure. My time there was wonderful, not only the amazing outdoors, but the people were the most hospitable, friendly, kind and open I've been around in all my travels. You are a lucky man.
