Fellow sawdust makers --

How long, on average, does it take you to inlet a walnut stock?

The barrel channel seems to take me forever.

John
I never start with anything more than a blank and I have found more than a few tricks to speed things up. I take the trigger off and inlet just the action first, then add the trigger, so all I am looking at for touching is the trigger, instead of the old way of trying to find ALL of the lamp black points.

I also started shaping everything about the outside of the stock prior to cutting the bolt slot and the lowered area for the action ejection port. I cut them last so the weak areas are protected until the very end...

Oh yeah, I spend about 4-5 hours getting everything inletted.
