I have this rifle for sale. It's a Leman percussion with .50 caliber Sharon barrel 35" length 1-70" twist for PRB. Shoots outstandingly well and was built by Tom Watson over in Georgia. I shot this rifle probably no more than 100 times but enough to know that it's extremely accurate with a 100 grains KIK 2F and Hornady .490 PRB! I've forgotten the trigger make but can get that info and more if anyone interested. I want $1250.00 with buyer paying freight. I just don't need it as I've got more rifles than time to spend with 'em! Can be reached at Sharpsman1940 gmail.com Thanks! Untitled by .com/photos/61286670N08/]Sharps Man, on [bleep]

Gorgeous, but I have too many irons in the fire right now, and that's too spendy for me. GLWS.

Nice looking rifle. I have one I built back in the 1980's that looks just like it except my stain job is a little lighter. There's a lot of work and time that goes into building a southern mountain rifle. Most of the parts I had to make by hand since none were available as after market parts.

I have one a lot like it but made by H.Leman, hisself. 38 cal, about 38" barrel, pewter cap box and nose cap. For $1200 I'd think about letting it go. Yours looks darn good.

FWIW from Wiki:
Their "Rocky Mountain" guns were typically .50 caliber or .53 caliber, but ranged as high as .68 caliber. They averaged 10 1⁄2 pounds (4.8 kg), although there are examples of 15 pounds (6.8 kg) guns

The two original Hawkens I have been able to handle ( one later era S. Hawken halfstock, the other an earlier J&S Hawken fullstock) were both of the 10 pound variety. Plus or minus a few ozs. Both were approx. 54 calibre. Naturally both percussion.
