Putting together a 6.5-06 and am thnking about putting a SWFA 10x on it. How do you guys like the 10x for shooting out to 600-700 yards? Gun is going to be used on a lot of coyote huntings and also up to elk. Do you feel underscoped at longer distances with the 10x?

That would be fine at those ranges and further, IMO.

I'm an old guy with chit eye sight and find a 10X just a little less than I want at that range on steel. I'm simply not practiced enough ( YET ) to shoot game at that range. I'm betting younger eyes will be fine with it, many are.

More X's mo betta for this old man

Laker - Am very pleased with the 6x SWFA scope a buddy prompted me to buy. Popped it onto my good ol' 308 Win, and use it often out to 600 yards or so. I was very impressed with the quality of the SWFA scope, particularly for the price.

That 10x you're considering should be even better for the 600 - 700 yard shooting you mentioned.

Regards, Guy

For Utility Killing,I much prefer the 6x,for distances well beyond the 700yd line.

I have a 6.5-06 Play Toy,that wears a 10x,but rides in a HEAVY filled A5 and S/S Matt bottom,etc. Straight Giggles Rifle and it's OK there.

Flipside...I built a 223 Sleeper/Loaner as a Mind Fhuqk,to let folks shoot. Faux 5,Heavy Varmint in 223 SALAMI,as a LR Hammer and it wears a 6x. I've had lotsa folks shoot THE schit out of it,farther than they'd ever shot anything before and of course connecting as they please. When they are done,I say "you know that's a 6-power?!?"...which ALWAYS fhuqks people up and of course sells a LOT of glass. One buddy was shooting it at the 1450yd line, blowing his own mind and I had to peel tape away,to SHOW him the designator.(grin)

10x will bite you sooner or later,on movers or in the brush and a 6x shines brightly on all of it,giving up nothing at distance. 'Course nobody listens and alotta 10x's get pulled off, after them lessons have been experienced in the flesh.

Iā€™d be embarrassed if I posted about killing scopes and my answer was about how I have nothing to add.

SWFA 10x is great at 800 yards.

BTW, that little guy in the photo is too tall for his hair. Probably complains about it in bagel shops.

Peckerpole Stick,

You TRY and FAIL to make up for your small size as a male with objects.

Little Bitty Guy that's too tall for his hair, too.

BTW, we all know you've never been in uniform other than as a maintenance guy or gas station attendant or you would be MUCH better at cussing.

You would really fit in Anchorage, Seattle, Portland and San Francisco.

Sheriff, are straight jackets considered a uniform?
