Back to the original question, the 10x will do just fine, both near and far. I do not shoot as far as you are questioning, but have shot animals out past 400 yards with the 10x and it was fine. The only way to tell, for your needs, is to try one. I have shot deer up close with it, too. I also have the 6x and like them real well. My eyes prefer the higher magnification, though.

A lot of members early on were upset at family being brought into this Larry and “insert several members names” feud.

Long ago ROE’ s were established by all involved, including Larry, that making comments and targeting family members were part of their war plan.

I’ve posted this before and many members agreed that no family, spouse, dog or cat member should ever be used in any way other than for a compliment on the Fire...

With this exception: If all feuding members agree to make family a target and post with like targeting...This becomes the rules they have agreed to play by.

Does that mean those who choose to read their feud should like it? No. But it’s their fight. You can’t side with any one member because they all have done it to each other on a weekly basis for over a year.

It’s easier to ignore the feud than becoming involved yourself. Your feelings are seen, noted and understood by many.

I have terrible eyes, especially the right eye, and the 10X served me well at 629 yards with the 6.5-06. .

I built another 6.5-06, lighter weight, I hope to hunt with in 2019, this one with a Rem700 action and Bartlein barrel.

This one has a VX-6HS 2x12x42...... not that I need any more than 10X.

No one should talk that way about another person's family, nor post pics of someone else's family in that context. I'm not interested in going through endless other threads and comments; I see a picture, repeatedly posted, of good people I know and trash being said about them.

He decided to bring family into this and he is reaping what he has sowed. It may upset some people and that is understandable, but there is only one way this will stop and that is if Larry decides he wants it to stop and behaves as such.

We all know how that is going to go so we could just skip the morality of this all and get on with it. Larry can continue his uber successful quest to be the coolest guy on the www and the rest of us will laugh our asses of at his plight.
