A few peas in the garden not near ready, and it would be store bought red spuds, but I've got that urge.

One of the wife's favorites. Pea crop was more or less a complete failure this year.

Good evening John. I am far removed from the hunter-gather mode. Do you know they sell fresh produce in stores? laugh

Our red spuds are at new potato stage.

About the size of a kiwi fruit and smaller.

The peas didn't make it sadly.

We have some field peas in a cover crop that we will harvest.

My green peas in the garden came in the last of May, and we ate several helpings fresh, and froze and canned the rest. I raised a different variety of pea this year and they were pretty good. Fresh peas and potatoes, and I had some red ones that were ready, are pretty darn good.

I'm making creamed potato's and green beans tonight.....I'll eat em but I'm not crazy about peas.

These potato's are the best....they're from The Little Potato Co. in Canada....I get em at Wally's.

It's a sad day when a resident of ID (the state known for it's potato's) has to buy Canadian potato's from a Wal Mart in WA but these are the times we live in.

I’m a big fan of lil’ waxy spuds. Boiled with butter and parsley or roasted with butter and garlic.

I recall the thread from last year regarding creamed peas and potatoes. I may have even made some? Either way, they sound good enough to make again.

Ain't nothin better than Yukon golds. For about ten years the store we used to shop at had them in a ten pound bag and the company was from Idaho.

A better potato I have never tasted.

You could just heat in microwave and eat plain.

Then one day nothing couldn't find them anymore.

Can't even remember the name of the company as its been over 15 years.

Shockingly sse is correct here.

I have a thanksgiving creamed onion story for another time.
I actually just threw up a little bit typing that.

Irish Cobblers are the best potatoes I have ever had. Have to grow them though as you can't find um in stores. Other than that it is reds or Yukon Golds for me.

Cream is good. Corn is good. Peas is good. Taters is good. Nunions is good.

SSE, you're just not eating them correctly. Try this ...

I've done it all my life,
It makes the peas taste funny,
But it keeps them on my knife. wink

The sauce is the key. Melt butter, or margarine, stir in flour, and milk, simmer, add to boiled potatoes, and peas. Some onion, celery, and caraway seed, salt, and pepper.
