Surprised that--as an example, 7mm Rem Mag 160 grains--Sierra has seemed to eliminate some old standards, i.e., Re-19. Now I need to keep both the #5 and #6 on the shelf. And they ain't thin.

This shouldn’t be a surprise. There is only room for a limited number of powders for each bullet, and like all other manuals the editors have to choose the most appropriate propellants. With the huge number of new powders introduced since the last Sierra manual, the editors want to include some of them, which means they had to delete some older powders. If manual editors didn’t do this, manuals would be really thick.

An even worse case is the Hornady manuals after they introduce the .358" gummy tip for the 35 Remington. They had to down grade some max loads to fit the pressure of the gummy tip that no one wants or uses.

Just think how thick they would be if they included every powder for every cartridge. It would be like Websters Unabridged Dictionary. You would have to get it it's own stand for the bench.
