First, let me run their campaign.Totally run it.

Next, I'd totally junk their platform - publicly. Whatever they want to do when they get into power, they don't need to talk about it now.

I would find a very moderate sounding candidate. Think Bill Clinton #2. Yes, a white man. Not a person of color or LGBT or any of that. He can lean left but talk down the middle. He would be "common sense approach to our borders. "Protect America but allow those seeking freedom to enter" and that sort of BS rhetoric. The Centrist voters LOVE that sort of thing. Same with "common sense gun laws. You can have all the guns you want, but we need to protect our school children and society". Both of those statements say nothing but Centrist eat that up.

On Trump I'd take a completely different tact.

- Trade "We need good trade relations with our most import partners. We can get that done without all these sanctions and hysterical rhetoric. We can sit down with China and get something worked out very quickly if we tone things down and come together."

- Globalists in Europe "We need our European allies and I can repair the division that this last President created with his nasty behavior
- Trump I'd attack his tweets a different way. "This President is entitled to express himself, but we all wish he would act like a high schooler tweeting nonsense. Let's get somebody in office that acts presidential".

- Economy Steal Trumps thunder on that. "We all know that changes in the economy are not instant on. The good economy we have now rose from the ashes of the Bush II Presidency and the mortgage crisis. President Obama did a great job of preventing us - and the world from sliding into an economic Depression. You just need to look at when the markets turned and how they steadily climbed and how employment number were on the rise long before Trump came along. We intend to keep this going". Sure, it may not be true, but that's how to spin it.

- Military "American needs a strong military and we will support, equip and train our force to be the best. We are committed to them". That says nothing but sounds good. More Centrist votes.






That's my start on electing a Democrat in 2020. I'll add more. Fortunately, the Dems would NEVER do this in 2020, but watch out for 2024 using this template that is actually the Bill Clinton playbook.

Actually the economy did start to turn during Obama's Abortion. About a year before, coincidentally? about the time Primaries started heating up. Nothing like a terrible lame duck president gasping his last to kick start some change.

hatari, you make way too much sense. Yes, this is what they might do in 2024. However, they appear to be so hell-bent on wrecking the Democrat train this election cycle they may not have recovered enough in 2024 to follow this sensible script.

I am cautiously optimistic about the 2020 election. It is distinctly probable that AOC will be ousted in her district’s primary, and that may happen to Omar, as well. The extremism these extreme leftists are pushing will probably spill over to other close races around the country, and may cost the Dems the House. Gun control is going to cost them in some other races... the Dems’ return to this proven electoral-suicide platform plank will bite them hard this time around. They have poor prospects in the Senate and White House races already, so this election could produce the greatest electoral disaster for the Democrats in history.

To the other hand, the Dems’ local control of election machinery is pervasive and proven. Electoral fraud will be rampant, and may be enough to steal some serious wins for the Left. This may be enough to salvage the election for the Dems , which will be disastrous for America.

What America needs is a complete revamp of the Democratic Party. They will not steer away from their hard-Left misadventure for anything less. That won’t happen unless they crash and burn next November.

The economic changes of 2015-16 didn’t happen because of Obama policies. Market forces (investment) picked up on the probability that the next Administration would be more pro-business after Obama’s socialist rule.

Don't panic, they are just like our labor party socialists here...too damned arrogant and ignorant to take advice or learned discourse from anyone.

They will continue this hard Left parade to defeat. This will be a repeat of 1972. A personally unpopular GOP President who opened up dialog with communist regimes and oversaw some turbulent times in his first term destroyed the Democrats who thought their way to the White House was to leave the middle and go as far Left as they could go and found a candidate to fit.

Nixon smoked McGovern in a landslide. Then the impeachment talk......

So, IOW, they are SOL.

They could run Biden, pass him off as what you are saying, and win the election. I think Trump is going to have a tougher time winning in 2020 as most on here think. His winning margin was razor thin in the states that counted, and if the Demoncrats can energize their base in those states, Biden could easily win.

More likely I see the current crop of Dems attacking Old Joe in the Primaries like a school of piranhas. By the time they are done with him not only will he not be the front runner, but all that will be left politically will be a skeleton and a memory. They want to go full kook Left.

Trump now has the power of incumbency. He doesn't face a Primary challenge. He can conserve his campaign money, and he is raking it in.

Trump won't face anyone with the name recognition or the campaign apparatus that Hillary had. Despite her negatives, many on the Left had reason to vote FOR Hillary. Think of the feminists, they were motivated and energized. Kamala and Liz can't whip them up as well as Hillary could. This group only offers a vote AGAINST Trump. Tougher to energize the base without a charismatic candidate offering you something to vote for that you believe in. Trump had his MAGA platform of deregulation, trade overhaul, border control, tax cuts, and let us not forget the SCOTUS!

Trump can run on his delivery of lower taxes, deregulation, a strong economy, low unemployment, reworked trade, relaxation of problems in Korea. He can run on the fact he is still trying to work on immigration and border security by telling the voters he needs new GOP members of Congress to help him get things done. That can mean both out with some the new Dems but also out with some RINOS if he works it right.

Dems could all commit suicide and win a lot of sympathy votes.

The Dems could run somebody that wasn't a koo-koo bird Commie and they would stand a good chance in 2020.

The left, democrats, liberals, communist, socialist, islamites, the news media, and globalist are working with the social media in this country in collusion with our enemies, Russia and China, to affect the elections. Unfortunately it is nearly all of our social media that is affected. This popular vote is just one way to change things. They have many more ways they are working on through social media.

The left, democrats, liberals, communist, socialist, islamites, the news media, and globalist want power/control of the American people. They hate Americans, the Constitution, and the USA. They are all enemies and traitors of America. They are using immigration/illegals to change the demographics of our once great nation. Globalists are turning it into a 2nd rate country they can control. That is the end game! Educated Christians which can think and have guns cannot be controlled by government.

There are a lot more illegals here than mos expect. plus we have taken in 1 million a year since 1970.
