Been a bit since we've had a good boat thread.

Just picked up a little 12' Klamath pond skipper for me and the boys to tool around the local fishing ponds. Had it around the island in the sound as well. Merc 7.5 pushes it fairly well and the Minn Kota is perfect on the ponds. At 2 and 5 years old, the 3 of us do fine it it now. Won't be long before it'll get traded off for a 16-18'er though.

I have an older formula 233 as well. Every year I think about selling it or doing some renovations. Chevy 350 runs like a top, steering gimbal needs work. It's fun to load up and go camping/cruising. Great in some slop.

What ya got? Want? Pics?

I like my little Klamath. Ain't much to it. Pretty light, maybe 1/16", but welded. Just bought some knotty red cedar and some Alaskan yellow cedar to make some seat benches out of. Going to re-spray the inside as well.

I really like my new-to-me Crestliner 14' Angler. Very easy to manage, decent space, gets into the places I want to go, and will run 20+ MPH with 3 of us and gear with a 25HP Yamaha. Cheap and easy to operate and maintain.

I have an old 16 foot Lund, about fifty years old, but still does not leak a drop. It makes about fourteen mph with just me on board with an 18 hp Merc. But six people with tackle boxes, coolers, and eighteen gallons of gas in the bow tank slows her down to about 8 mph.

I have not had it out in a couple years. Trying to gather enough funds to acquire an older heavy gauge welded Aluminum jet boat. Looking for mid nineties Weldcraft, Duckworth, or (I would really like to find a) Miller Marine. 20 to 21 foot, 350 Chev or 351 Ford with low hours, Hamilton pump, 3/16" to 1/4" bottom material.

I have several boats. Been looking at the Gregor Baja/Alaskan lately, but only on line as they are rarely found out east. Wondering if anyone on this board has experiences with that one.

1988 15.5' Gregor Baja Special. Has a 20hp Evinrude main motor and a 6hp Mercury trolling motor. Someone put a lot of time, effort, and money into this boat (floors, paint inside and out, diamond plate, rails, seat boxes, etc.).

I've got a little 1752 Alweld with a tunnel hull and a Tohatsu 50/35 jet. I added flotation pods to it after I bought it. Great little boat that runs in just inches of water.

16' Alumaweld with a 40 horse Merc. Bought it last year and I'm really enjoying it. Previous owner had polished the aluminum which looks nice but is a bitch to keep shiny.

That’s true with some boats. It depends on what you have. I always keep a low maintenance boat around. I downgraded from a 19 foot skiff to a 13’ Whaler a few years ago and it is virtually no maintenance. I use it in lakes, rivers and saltwater bays. It amazes me how capable it is for a boat so small.

My little adventure boat - Gheenoe 13' 1st photo it has the 6hp yamaha 4stroke on it , straight up the riverbank is the pic of campsite . Henry Shires Contrail tent , CZ 221 fireball rifle .
Boat gets about 15mpg going upriver , 16mph top speed in the bay.
Bottom picture - new high dollar [rattlecan] paintjob , seat in middle of boat , 2.5hp yamaha 4stroke , it has become my favorite , sips gas , very quiet and weighs 37lbs. .
I can sit on the side of the boat lift legs/feet out of the water and can't tip the boat over, the black rub rail will be 3'' above water , I weight 205lbs. .
Blackwater river - santa rosa & okaloosa county FL. , logs jams - stumps everywhere , boat has to be towed through shallow spots so I have the place to myself .
