The instigators of this thing wisely now SAY it was only a joke. Because inciting a riot to storm "lethal force authorized" property is tantamount to murder.
Their assembly point is said to be 25 miles from Area 51. That's 25 miles of July Nevada desert. It isn't a stroll down a shady lane.
Even if they got there, it does not matter how many begin to enter the area, the first 100 or so to get shot dead will make the rest change their minds right damn now. Make no mistake, such an invasion would be viewed as exactly that. No mercy will be given.
From 1969 thru 1992 l worked about 3 months out of very year, just over the hill from Area 51 in areas 12 and 19. Even with a TS clearance, we could never get close to it. I added it all up and I spent a little over 13 years living on the Nevada Test Site. Ground sensors are installed all around. As Hemiallen said , some of the response teams are modified dune buggies, but they have dual 30 cals on them, not 50 cals ,at least the ones I encountered.
No one will get close to Area 51
If you get on Google Earth and search for Mercury, Nevada, Go north about 30 miles until you see Sudan Crater ( biggest one out there), Area 51 is north of that ,maybe -20-15 miles
If God wanted you to walk and carry things on your back, He would not have invented stirrups and pack saddles
Wonder how many of the menfolk attending will stop for gas and get a better idea than going on an ALIEN quest?
I mean, there are better things to do than get shot at, right?

Thanks for the correction Saddlesore. I only worked there from 1980-92, our last "experiment" wasn't completed..... President Bush decided to stop the somewhat secret event as it might lessen his chance of getting re-elected as there was a self imposed moratorium, or so we were told.
If you are in North Las Vegas go to the Nevada Test Site Museum, pretty well describes the operations done there, and you'll see me in the Pictures of the Nuclear weapons Cannister events.
A lot of operations besides Nuclear weapons testing happened at NTS. And I agree with Saddlesore, there were plenty of road sensors, folks monitoring roads and rolling when someone approached the boundry. An interesting experiment I believe is searchable was the Climax mine, a test bed undergound tunnel for storing Nuclear WASTE FUEL RODS.
I miss the Ice cream we got at the Bowling Alley before boarding AMI, an F27F private prop jet we owned. Lots of bumpy rides over the Sierra's during summer months.

I did some training out there around 2000 and yes, the security is no joke.
Cool you got to work there. Awesome place.

Yep. If we treated it the same we wouldn’t have all these fuggin wetbacks here. 😡

Ah the old F27 Fairchilds. We rode in one chartered from Ross Aviation.. Had the windshield blow out once about at the AZ border. That old thing would shudder as it took off from Desert Rock and if it wasn't going to make the altitude to go over the pass and back around Mt Charleston, it made a sharp left and followed 95 into town.Once between Christmas and New Years, Ross Aviation sent a 10 passenger Cessna to take us . When we got over Desert Rock, the light said the landing gear was down.Tower said it wasn't .We circled and dumped fuel while the copilot pump the gear down manually, then we landed in the sand past the hard top with two All Terrain fire trucks pacing beside us.I flew commercial after that.It was probably in about 1969 or so. Champhor test run by Sandia. That same plane auguerd into Kirkland AFB not long after that killing all ten Las Alamos employees on it. The last shot I worked on, I think it was in 92, they sealed it up without pushing the button because for the test ban treaty.I thought it was Carter that put us out of business. Lot of memorys I would like to flush out, but they stick and usually resurface during the night.

I recall stories from the guys who worked there before I did about the landing gear flight, glad it worked out!
Yes, 1992 GREENWATER. I had the most sophisticated X-Ray experiment I built on it. Ended up building an x-ray source with a certain classified material ( energy) to verify just before bang time the X-ray spectrometer worked once lowred to zero depth, and if the system gave us the signal it would prove it worked,. The reason is we did a duplicate nuke 2 years earlier, my data showed their system failed, and they didn't like our results. Think Ronnies Star wars for what our experiment was verifying....Zapping foreign orbiting things.
I flew Ross once, they landed in Livermore to pick 2 of us up to fly us to Albuquerque, NM, post 1992 when we shifted to shock physics to do weapons experiments. They altered flight course to fly over the crater in Arizona, I believe.
Another story was our AMI F27F ended up landing in a very close to Desert rock airstrip with a friend onboard, they rolled down the window shades at 10k ft elevation and had everyone sign a form saying they didn't land before Desert Rock. Not sure what happened but they didn't unload the cargo bay ( same door as the passengers suitcase/ bags) and delivered folks bags later to the Blue building, adding to the speculation of what did AMI transport from the Area 51 airstrip to Desert Rock airstrip.
Lots of cool experiments at NTS, one tunnel shot to test the hardness of one of I believe OUR satellite, I didn't see any russian words on it. Yea, I wasn't wandering around, lol.
I truly wished they attempt to enter Area 51. Some news reporter from Vegas entered NTS maybe mid 1980's, and the story was printed in the Vegas rag.I still am surprised he and that group I saw arrested somehow got a vehicle onsite.
Back in the above ground testing days, pre 63 I believe, some farmer drove a jeep up to the tower, around Zero time, and luckily back then someone saw him before they fired the Nuke and got him out of there. They said, if they didn't see him, they never would have known he was there after bang time, no crap...
“We will all meet up at the Area 51 Alien Center tourist attraction and coordinate our entry,” the Facebook event page said. “If we naruto run, we can move faster than their bullets. Let’s see them aliens.”
So what the heck is "naruto run" anyway? Turns out it's the way ninjas run in Japanese Manga cartoons. Would love to see 1.5 million idiots running around the desert like that. You should periodically clear dud munitions anyway.
