I just picked up a Marlin m39. It's my second one, 1st is a 1970 centennial octagon. Anyway, this one still has a faded silver Marlin sticker on the forend. Any reason to leave it there?

If you are wanting to sell it as a collector piece down the road, maybe leave it on. As for myself I would remove it and not give it a second thought.

Tikkanut. My first Marlin 39 is one of the octagon centennials like you posted. I wanted one I wasn't afraid to take out and shoot. Got a really nice one from 1974. I shot it this weekend. Shot great, I'm happy with it. I am taking off the sticker.
