Probably a silly question... just never had to do it before and everybody and their brother sells them.

Got a 2004 Ford F-150 Super Crew with running boards rusted out and about to fall off. Don’t want to replace them myself, don’t want to break a leg when they finally give up the ghost. Outside of a dealer, where would a guy look to buy some decent ones and have them installed? Don’t need top of the line, the truck’s 15 years old, got to think good ones will last me long enough. grin

Suggestions on brand?

Thanks.

Any good truck specialty or 4x4 shop in your area should be able to do that.

I just changed mine to powered running boards on my 2011 Superduty. It was a two hour job in my garage.

They are great BTW.

My old boards are up for sale but will not fit your truck.

I have a Dodge quad cab long bed. It's too high to easily reach over the sides of the bed so I needed steps. I put on extra long nerf bars with step pads. They go back to the rear wheel wells. They were easy to install and are a huge help for getting at stuff in the bed.

Problem is the number of places that will do it, and costs for the running boards being from something like $150 to $700.

Thought maybe somebody would have a suggestion on avoiding the gougers.

I bought Deezee running boards from autoanything and installed them myself. It took maybe 2 hours if that

Remembered there was a dealer nearby for the topper that came with it. Set of new running boards installed for $270. I think I can live with that. Bonus is I can have them replace the props on the topper and fix the weather stripping that popped off the topper at the same time.

15 year old trucks.. fun never ends. grin

Buy what you want online and then call a local mobile mechanic to install them. That way you won't pay a markup on the boards.

Cape Truck Accessories on 84th and F in Omaha has quite a big selection. We just got a new Ram Classic at work and going to have them install a 5" grate style for better traction after all those nice ice storms we are getting lately. Ours is going to be $550, but I know they have cheaper versions and styles.
