If you see a prairie dog in the distance that seems to be leaning, it is likely not a dog at all. It's a burrowing owl - don't shoot!

Take two rifles. That way one can cool while the other carries on,

Coyote Hunter - NRA Patriot Life, NRA Whittington Center Life, GOA, DAD - and I VOTE!

No, I'm not a Ruger bigot - just an unabashed fan of their revolvers, M77's and #1's.

A good .30-06 is a 99% solution.

…..yup.....I usually take 3,500 rounds when I go.

As to two rifles......it usually requires more than that.....I've gone with eight of different calibers from .223 to .25-06

I like shooting ballistic tip ammo, less chance of ricochet. Be mindful of the direction you shoot and where the livestock are located. I’ve shot a few towns in SD while pheasant hunting. Usually after the first shot the dogs get down and you have to wait out a dumb one or two. Like others said, it depends on how much shooting the town gets. If not many shoot at it, the shots will be close and plentiful, a lot of shooting on the town will give you 150+ yd shots.

Shot distance depends on terrain and the town. You can make them as long as you like.

Or, I will volunteer to come out to WY and handle the problem!

You might take a “clicker” along on your next trip, you will be amazed at how many less than 1000 dogs you will actually shoot...
