Anyone know of a lefty bolt with a detachable mag, in stainless, comes with a MOA guarantee, is under $1000 and is lightweight? I have a Tikka 308 with optic and sling that's under 8lbs, but my buddy has a Kimber Montana (I think that's it) in 308 that is approx 6.5 lbs. with optic. Kimber doesn't cater to lefties.

Is your tikka stainless? My stainless t3 lite 30'06 sure feels light to me, makes the rest of the gun flock seem like boat anchors.

It is stainless. It's a T3x 2 or what ever the second generation is called. It's well under 8 lbs.

I put off getting a lefty tikka lite as long as I could.....until I found a clearance price on a stainless a couple of years ago at a cabelas... been very happy with it. I'm sure there are lighter options, with crf, better stocks, but in lefty could get pricey.. How much would a savage version weigh?

Wife has a righty 7mm/08 and I have a lefty 223. But they are built on an adjustable stock platform. OP, you might be able to shave a few ounces if you have the barrel fluted.
My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

The Savage Axis II LH in .308 Win. weighs about 6lbs. It's not stainless, however.

My tikka weighs 6.2 without the optics.....I know a couple of fellows with light weight stainless kimbers, not sure if Montana or 84s...could be one in the same, but both their rifles have blind magazines.

I'm not a kimber guy by any stretch....but I remember reading about the ascent mountain rifle a few years back...sounds like what your buddy may be toting.
