If you ever have occasion to be traveling US Highway 30 near Colo, Iowa, around a mealtime, you should consider stopping at Country House Family Restaurant. It is located just west of Colo on the south side of the road. It is tucked in with a campground and RV center, so it is easy to overlook. The food is great, and the portions are huge. I had chicken and noodles (about equal parts chicken and noodle) that came with mashed potatoes, creamed peas, and cole slaw. I had to take some along home with me, an unheard of event.
