I put quite a bit of effort into making the 7mm 195 EOL shoot in a bench gun. its a long story but I wasnt impressed accuracy wise. On a computer program there very seductive. On target at 500 yards. Not so much. dave
Only accurate rifles are interesting.

I personally see no use in going to the Bergers over the 147s. But everybody has to have a catchy name for the CF, flat billed gang....

Daughter is trying the 147s this year. Had 100% success with the 140 vld over the years. Had poor success with the 180 ELD-M on a few critters and moved on from those in 7mm. Hoping the 147 behaves at a 2700 fps muzzle velocity. I have no issue trying the 156 in an upcoming 6.5-284 and would expect them to be as accurate and good on meat as the 140s. Or may take the easy route and just shoot the 140s in it. Rambling this am, but I like more options in bullets not fewer. And I don't have a flat bill lol.

TIC Kurt....
I imagine you’ll dig those 147s at CM/Lapua speeds. Personally I left Bergers a long time ago due to them being too finicky, “soft” and inconsistent from lot to lot. Granted all was before the Hybrids, but when I went to Scenars and Hornady I never went back.
Would love to see a heavier 6.5 Scenar.

Agreed on a heavier scenar, those have been quite nice on meat. And imagine the 2700 fps will make a lot of these bullets behave pretty well. That said I still want to try a 156 eol at around 2950 fps.

Definitely picky about depth. But the 54.7 at .005 will be amazing if it’s moving over 3k

Got very light ejector marks at 55.5. My gun seems like it’s tight most of my loads are 1 to 1.5 grains under what everybody else posts.

"Fascinating" Dumbfhuqktitiude,to "laude" an increase in mass/recoil,along with reduced speed and lesser BC...then "cite" 4-digits of "jump". Hint. LAUGHING!
Boogers simply deviate more than the .0050" proffered,as do her schit brass. Hint.
'Course she hasn't the tools on hand to cite same, nor the dies. Hint.
Nor could she cite freebore diameter or length. Hint.
But "lucklily" Imagination and Pretend are free,so she can talk about that...the "lucky" kchunt. LAUGHING!
A velocity was "nearly" cited, but she knew better.
EPIC fhuqking humor!
LAUGHING!

Brother Dave keeping the family safe while you are on the bottle sugartits. LOL.
You poor fat fûck. It’s all about killing on my end, your paper punching creeds ain’t fast enough to open a Christmas present so Uber soft bullets snake by like you at a weight watchers meeting. Once a little gas is applied bullets matter. LOL I’ll take the Berger’s as I’ve seen Eldm at creed speed so adding 300 FPS seems like a poor Choice. (And we all know how you make good choices). LOL. But it’s rich that you and Jud agree.

I haven't "agreed" with anyone, just a common sense question, why give up velocity and bc outta the gate when building a long range rig? 2 of the easiest things a guy can control.

Had poor success with the 180 ELD-M on a few critters and moved on from those. What problems did you have with the 180s? I've been loading them in my 28 nosler and 280 ai and I've been looking for a 7-08 fieldcraft to shoot them with too. They shoot great from my 28 at 3200 fps over rl 33. I have yet to use them on game. Bb

Fred,
How many animals have you shot with the 180’s so far? My experience with them is that they penetrate quite well, but that is limited to a frontal shot on one fairly large bull moose, so far.

A white tail deer at 120 yards caught the shoulder just a little no bone and bullet never exited 7wsm. Frontal on a bear 400’ish no exit and a giant pile of goo 28 nosler. I’m not one bit against a mess but I feel the Berger is a little tougher.

I put this elk on pack boards and never found a bullet. But I did find a chunk of jacket at the exit.

I’m really happy with the 156 at 3020fps I’m at odds between it and the 143 eldx as they shoot the best out of my rifle and I’m gonna go kill antelope in a couple weeks.

I had to order some in just to look them over. They would be way slow in my 6.5 CM’s. I roasted my 6.5 Badger (6.5-.338 Ultra Improved) Barrel. So I would have to rebarrel before I can play with them. I did get my rings, base and sling (Andy’s leather) in for my 6.5 CM Fieldcraft . So I have something to tinker with. 6.5 Grendel/123gr ELD-M (Left) Berger 6.5 156gr (Right)

Mine shoots them extremely well for a little bit and then goes to hell until I clean it well with Boretech. I'm going to work on a different load as soon as I get feeling well enough to get back out. It has shot multiple sub .25" groups and then it goes to 1.5. I thought I was having scope issues and changed scopes to same thing. I would rather have a consistant 1/2" gun than than one that's inconsistent. Mine is just a Christensen ELR so I thought maybe the barrel just fouls easily but after what you said I'll try some different powder. Maybe retumbo. Bb

Burley RL33 is a dirty powder for sure. Carbon build up is a problem in the 28 with it also. Normally around 50 shots I scrub the neck/throat and push a few patches through and all is well. Retumbo shouldn’t be as bad but less velocity. N570 if you can find it is the powder to use in the 28.

At what point is super-long, too-long? It seems like it is really pushing it, with these. There is a point of diminishing returns.

The gap doesn’t care for the Atip 135 either. But the wssm is near and I’m hopeful that it likes them and will push them to 3100.

No, haven't shot it in 5 years, or loaded for it 7 or so, scopes getting ready to get stripped off and it's gonna find a new home.

I just got some loaded ammo from Copper Creek for my 6.5 GAP, supposed to be 2930 fps and a BC of .679, I haven't shot them yet.

I’m shooting the 156 in 6.5 Creedmoor. I tried close to the lands, about .005 but got better accuracy at .025 off COAL- 2.95
I worked up and settled on 40.5 grains H4350. Got ejector mark at 41 grains I very low es , 12 fps, Norma brass Fed 210
2650 fps
The load work up was 40, 40.3, 40.6, 40.9 The first 3 loads were .75” then poi changed and ejector mark at 40.9
I shot them at 460 yards and was sub moa for just 3 shots. Shot an antelope 3 days ago at 515 yards. Bullet entered the ribs , took out the heart then exited and took out part of the shoulder. He was slightly quartering. Was DRT
My rifle is a Barrett fieldcraft , 24”.
Check over on longrange only.com There are 2 threads about the 156 and older thread about the prototype 155 Berger
Some folks are getting 2700 fps and more from the creed

I’ve got 14lbs of N570 now, so no more RL33.
