if I recall correctly they were marketed by mauser in the early to mid 70's. they are push feed actions not true mauser actions. they were the lower priced version of the mauser 3000 which was more weatherbyesque in style. I put a barrel on one once for a client. I didn't care for the bottom metal and I never saw the stock. seemed to be a serviceable action but I don't believe you will find many options as far as triggers, scope bases, or synthetic stocks available for it.

Made by Heym for Mauser. Buddy had a left handed version in 243 that shot great.

Damn good rifles. Good shooters and although not a custom build more than sufficient in quality. Have a 2000 in .06 and a 3000 in .308.

I would buy another in a heartbeat it is just the fact I rarely see them for sale. You lucked out.

I just bought one but haven’t shot it yet, has a really nice trigger though. Waiting for the weather to warm a little, it’s a 30-06

Well, get it out to the range and let the rest of us know how she shoots. Good luck.

They are a well made rifle. I have a couple of lefties and really like them. As mentioned they are a.push feed action. The action itself is very slick and they were fitted with adjustable single or the optional twin set triggers.

Despite the Mauser markings the rifle is made by Heym. When they were not so well known outside of Europe, Heym had a marketing deal with Mauser. The rifles are based on the equivalent Heym SR 20 and 30 models (=Mauser 2000 & 3000). In Mauser trim they were stocked for the American market with Weatherby style stocks and alloy bottom metal. Heym models had steel bottom metal, German open sights and Euro style stocks. The interesting thing is the barrels have a 98 Mauser thread which is handy if you need a replacement.

If it's in good condition you'll have a decent outfit.

My 06 (3000) is a tack driver. My go to big game rifle for about 50 yrs . The floor plate latch pin broke last month.I taped it up . Many rounds through it,made lots of meat.

Conetrol makes rings and bases for them but they are expensive.
