My guess is that thing will whack the shoulder pretty good. All depends on the load. 24gr of 2400 under any 405gr cast bullet will shoot thru a buffalo and recoil is minimal all things considered. I cut my Handi 45-70 barrel down to 17" and shot 325gr FTX bullets near 2K fps. That will get your attention but killed hogs with authority. Thanks, Dinny
