The number seems to be going down quick here. The ones that are thriving are the ones that happily accept transfers. Much cheaper internet prices with no sales tax is killing them Is there not sales tax on the internet everywhere now? I have had to pay it the last few orders I have made for items. The last was on a dummy launcher from Cabelas and there is not a Cabelas here in Wyoming Wayfair decision last year screwed this up. States have gradually adopted the South Dakota model to tax transactions from out of state. Thank you SCOTUS.

Not any just straight gun stores here. There are pawn shops and feed stores that also have guns and ammo. I have bought from them and ordered from them and online transfers. Very easy to deal with. I bought a gun at a feed store this week. It didn't take 15 minutes.
I don't think a stand alone gun store could survive. The few gun stores I have been in were a one time thing. The guys at the counter seemed to insist that they knew what I should buy better than I did to the point of being rude about their superior gun knowledge. A shame because they had what I came in to buy but pissed me off and I bought the gun from someone else.

LGS & indoor range just a few blocks from my house is going outta business. I shoot bowling pins there on Thursday nights and we are on a week to week basis - the RO will send out a text when the lawyers tell them to lock the doors. I know it ain’t much but I’ve tried to support them with my $15 range fee every week. Prices on guns were just too high and transfers were $40. Talking about it to a friend today he told me that a counter guy got an attitude once when my friend offered $400 cash on gun priced at $425. So, he left and bought a gun somewhere else.
I’m thinking the owner has something set up with another FFL to buy out the gun inventory as he is still not dealing much on the gun prices. He did sell me an 8 pound jug of Winchester 296 for $150 +tax, which I was happy to pay (originally priced at $213). We are $500-600 apart on the price of a pistol I am interested in.
How’s your Local gun store weathering the ‘Trump slump’ in the gun business? Goin' gangbusters.... He's doing well.

Hell, I've got 3 or 4 within a 10 mile radius. Don't care much for Bass Pro Shops. Have two Turners in opposite directions, and a couple private shops within a 15 or 20 mile radius.

I hit my LGS usually on Tues and Sat,.
Deal w owner and his #1.
#1 texts me if something interesting comes in.
Decent hangout, busy.............but some regs and a couple employees annoy the chit out of me.
When I hit my limit I just leave.
