Jim Thorpe has been mentioned several times. In my look-up I was surprised to find both his parents were mixed blood.
His father, Hiram Thorpe, had an Irish father and a Sac and Fox Indian mother. His mother, Charlotte Vieux, had a French father and a Potawatomi mother. Jim was raised as Sac and Fox.

I guess I'm confused. Have you heard of Jim Thorpe or know of his history? It's hard to interpret some folks post it looks like.
I guessing he means Jim Thorpe was a Red Man. Native American. And he was definitely one of the greatest American athletes, IMO.

I like what Jim Thorpe said to the King of Sweden after winning a gold medal in the Decathlon.
July 15, 1912, Stockholm, Sweden
Jim Thorpe was an American (also native American) decathlete who won gold in the decathlon. At the medal presentation, King Gustav of Sweden announced to Thorpe, "Sir, you are the greatest athlete in the world!". Thorpe's two word reply:
