I was just wondering if anyone had a recommendation for a reel tuning service. I'm looking for someone who can change bearings, replace the drag, polish the internal parts, etc. and generally, get the most out of a bait casting reel. Any recommendations are appreciated. Thanks

Go to bloodydecks.com and check the forums. There's a couple guys on there that are really good. Hawk is one and there's a pharmacist that does it on the side. These guys have some tutorials on youtube also.

I contacted as I recall Mike reel repair service last year to have new ceramic bearings installed in a Abu Garcia swedish built model 154 long with a Cardinal 4 built in Japan in the 80's. Mike said he could add the bearings but doing so would not change the smoothness of the reels as the bearings were just located below the rotor which holds the spool. I appreciated his honesty and elected to buy new 11 bearing spinning reels.

Thanks Doc, that's exactly the kind of place I was looking for.
